Our story

Born fromfrustration.

We watched talented artists struggle, not because they lacked talent, but because they lacked strategy.

Release Assist was born from frustration. Our founders have spent years in the music industry watching talented artists struggle to gain traction, not because they lacked talent, but because they lacked strategy.

After speaking with musicians and independent artists, we realised there was a massive gap. They were making decisions in the dark, while labels had teams of analysts and research budgets to match.

So we started with a forecast: a way to know, before release day, whether a release was on course. Artists told us what they needed next, and it grew into a Release Assistant that plans each release with you and keeps you to it, with pitches, a link page and a mailing list to bring your fans along.

Labels and managers can use it too, to look after a whole roster of artists. But it's built for the artist first.

Two musicians who got tired of watching good releases go nowhere.

James
Co-founder
James splits his time between the technical and the creative. As the tech lead for Release Assist, he translates complex data into tools that actually make sense for musicians. When he's not working on Release Assist he's a leader for pop choir Some Voices or coaching vocalists. With a BSc in Music Technology and his non-profit that runs The London Gig Guide, James is dedicated to giving independent artists the support they need to navigate the industry.
Adriano
Co-founder
With years of experience in the music industry, Adriano brings deep insight into artist development and strategic planning, and leads Release Assist's creative development and communications. Outside of Release Assist, Adriano runs a music production studio in East London. He's developed a portfolio that includes songs heard on the BBC, ITV and Netflix.
